Here are the airlines with the fewest delays in 2024.

Aeromexico Takes Top Spot as Most Punctual Global Airline in 2024, Report Finds

Aeromexico has been named the most punctual global airline in 2024, according to a report published by aviation analytics company Cirium. The airline achieved an on-time performance rate of 86.7%, defined as flights arriving within 15 minutes of scheduled arrival times.

Cirium CEO Jeremy Bowen attributed Aeromexico’s success to the company’s culture, investment in new equipment, and relationship with its hub at Mexico City International Airport, which ranked fourth for on-time flights among global airports.

Saudia, formerly known as Saudi Arabian Airlines, took the second spot with 86.35% of its flights arriving on time, followed by Delta Air Lines, Latam Airlines, and Qatar Airways. The report noted that on-time flight arrivals dropped by 0.5% in 2024 compared to the previous year, citing the CrowdStrike software update and abnormal weather conditions as contributing factors.

The study also analyzed on-time performance for regional airlines, with Safair from South Africa, Oman Air, Copa Airlines, and Royal Jordanian Airlines ranking high. In the Europe region, Iberia Express and Iberia from Spain ranked first and second, respectively.

According to the report, on-time performance is a critical factor for passenger satisfaction and a key health-check metric for the airline industry, as delays can increase costs and negatively impact crew morale.
