Arizona Cardinals Bracing for Cold Weather in Charlotte as Playoff Push Continues
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray had a relatable reaction when asked about the team’s upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, North Carolina. With the Cardinals making a late push to make the playoffs, Murray seemed indifferent about playing in the cold weather until he found out the temperatures could drop to 35 or 40 degrees.
“No, I mean I’ve played in cold weather before. I don’t know, how cold is it supposed to be?” Murray said, before responding with a laugh to the news. “S—.”
According to FOX Weather, the temperatures in Charlotte are expected to dip before Sunday’s game with a high of 40 and a low of around 20 degrees. While the temperatures are not as frigid as some other parts of the country, it could still be a factor for a team that is used to playing in the warm weather of Arizona.
The Miami Dolphins, who are also a warm-weather team, fell 30-17 to the Green Bay Packers last month, with Packers safety Xavier McKinney attributing the loss to the Dolphins being affected by the cold weather.
The Cardinals are not out of the playoffs yet, but they will need to win out the season and claim the division to earn a wild-card spot.
