A second group of 75 Guatemalan soldiers arrived in Port-au-Prince on Saturday to bolster a United Nations-backed mission aimed at restoring order in Haiti, which is plagued by chaos caused by gangs. This group joins another 75 soldiers who arrived a day earlier, bringing the total number of Guatemalan troops to 150. All the reinforcements come from Guatemala’s military police unit, according to Guatemala’s government. Additionally, eight soldiers from El Salvador arrived on Friday to support the mission.
