Memphis Grizzlies Guard Ja Morant to Miss Time with Sprained Shoulder
Ja Morant has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 AC joint sprain in his right shoulder and will be considered week to week, the Memphis Grizzlies announced on Monday. Morant suffered the injury on Friday during a game against the New Orleans Pelicans when he crashed into a screen set by Daniel Theis.
Despite returning to the bench area, Morant was visibly struggling with his arm hanging limply by his side. The Grizzlies will provide further updates on his condition as necessary.
This is the second injury Morant has suffered this season, having missed eight games earlier due to a posterior hip subluxation and multiple Grade 1 pelvic muscle strains. He has also dealt with injuries in the past, including a torn labrum in the same shoulder that ended his season last year after just nine games.
Morant is averaging 21.2 points in 20 games this season and his status will be closely monitored as the Grizzlies navigate the remainder of their schedule.
