Greece’s Athens General Composite falls 0.25% at close of trade.

Greece Stocks Decline Amid Losses in Key Sectors

Greece’s stock market closed lower on Wednesday, with losses in the banking, retail, and healthcare sectors contributing to the decline. The Athens Stock Exchange composite index fell 0.25% to close at a level.

Premia AE led the gains, rising 6.68% or 0.08 points to trade at 1.27. Ekter and Lavipharm SA also posted strong gains, rising 4.00% and 2.71% respectively.

On the other hand, Crete Plastics SA, National Bank of Greece SA, and Kri-Kri Milk all fell, with Crete Plastics SA dropping 4.76% or 0.70 points to trade at 14.00.

Commodity prices were mixed, with gold futures unchanged at $2,633.50 per troy ounce, while crude oil prices fell 0.09% to $70.10 per barrel. Brent oil prices rose 1.24% to $73.22 per barrel.

The euro was steady against the US dollar and pound, with EUR/USD and EUR/GBP unchanged at 1.04 and 0.83 respectively. The US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.18% to 108.00.
