Golden Globes will be ‘toothless,’ warns host Nikki Glaser, with no Trump and Blake Lively expected to be snubbed

Golden Globes Host Nikki Glaser Warns of a “Toothless” Show

Comedian Nikki Glaser has hinted that this year’s Golden Globes show will be a tame and safe affair. In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Glaser revealed that she won’t be making jokes about Donald Trump or the recent Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni scandal, saying she wants to avoid offending anyone.

“I’m not gonna go so hard that anyone’s gonna be offended,” Glaser said. “I’ve made a point not to, and that’s not to disappoint anyone who’s hoping I’m going to pull a Ricky Gervais. I’m not Ricky Gervais. This isn’t my last Golden Globes, this is my first one.”

Past hosts of the Golden Globes, including Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler, have been known for their sharp wit and criticism of the celebrities in attendance. However, Glaser says she won’t be following in their footsteps. Instead, she’s focused on keeping the show lighthearted and enjoyable for everyone.

“Celebrities shouldn’t be nervous because it’s a great opportunity for them to look cool,” she said. “People at home feel disconnected from celebrities. Although that’s a thing we like about them that we put them on these pedestals, we’re really looking for some humanity from them. And I would really encourage celebrities to just laugh at jokes about you.”

Glaser’s approach has raised some eyebrows, as she’s known for her edgy humor. However, it’s clear that she’s prioritizing keeping the show friendly and accessible to all. The Golden Globes are set to air on CBS tomorrow night.
