PHOTO OF THE DAY

A stunning aerial view of the ancient city of Petra in Jordan, taken by drone photographer Olivier Loiseau. The shot captures the majestic Al-Khazneh, or Treasury, building, carved into the sandstone rock face over 2,000 years ago. The sun casts a warm glow on the intricate carvings and sculptures, bringing the ancient ruins to life.

Located in southern Jordan, Petra was once the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom and is considered one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. The city was abandoned in the 4th century AD and remained hidden for centuries, until its rediscovery in the 19th century.

Today, Petra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Jordan’s most popular tourist attractions, attracting millions of visitors each year.
