The New York Giants are hoping quarterback Drew Lock can lead the team to a turnaround, starting with a matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving. Lock signed with the Giants as a free agent this offseason and made his first start for the team last week, leading them to a 20-17 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
However, Lock faces a daunting task in leading a Giants team that has lost six straight games since their last win in Week 5. The team has not held a lead in a game since then and has lost seven straight to the Cowboys.
Lock, a 28-year-old who was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, has appeared in three games for the Giants so far, throwing the ball nine times with four completions for 9 yards. This will be his first time playing against the Cowboys.
Lock was not initially named the starter when quarterback Daniel Jones was benched, with backup quarterback Tyrod DeVito getting the nod instead. However, after DeVito struggled against the Buccaneers, Lock is getting his chance to lead the team. The Giants kick off against the Cowboys at 4:30 p.m. ET on Thanksgiving.
