Giants coach Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen to return for fourth season after 3-14 record in 2024.

Brian Daboll, a veteran assistant coach, has a proven track record of transforming an organization, having guided the Buffalo Bills’ offense from a bottom-third unit to a top-five outfit. He was hired by the New York Giants in 2022, tasked with doing the same for quarterback Daniel Jones. Initially, the results were impressive, with the Giants securing a playoff spot and a postseason road win, setting a promising future.

However, the numbers suggested that the 2022 success might be an anomaly. Jones’ 2022 season was marked by a career-best 3,205 passing yards and a 67.2 completion percentage, but he only threw 15 touchdowns and added seven scores on the ground. This raised concerns about his ceiling and sustainability.

Jones’ 2023 season was limited by injuries, and he was ultimately released in November 2024 after a disappointing 6-11 finish. Daboll’s job security was uncertain, but his work during the 2022 season might have saved him from being fired.

Daboll will now be tasked with extracting the best from the team’s next signal-caller, likely a first-round draft pick or a veteran bridge option. He must deliver quickly, as a repeat of the 2024 season could cost him his job before or by the end of the 2025 season.
