Disturbing Footage Captures Moment Mermaid Performer Attacked by Giant Fish
Disturbing footage has emerged of a mermaid performer being attacked by a massive fish in an aquarium in China. The incident occurred at the Xishuangbanna Primitive Forest Park, where the 22-year-old Russian woman was performing as part of a profitable role.
As onlookers watched, the giant fish suddenly ambushed the performer, its jaws opening wide and encircling her face. Fortunately, the woman was able to break free and swim to the surface, but not before the fish inflicted injuries to her head, neck, and eye.
Witnesses were left screaming in terror as the woman struggled to escape the fish’s grasp. Despite her ordeal, she was forced to return to the aquarium the same day, allegedly due to a painful neck wound.
According to reports, the woman received a mere £78 in moral damages from her employers, who also prohibited her from discussing the incident, attempting to “cover up” the event. The type of fish responsible for the attack remains undisclosed.
This is not the first time fish have attacked humans. In a separate incident in Brazil, 15 people were injured in March last year when they were bitten by piranhas while bathing in a river. The attacks were triggered by illegal fishing and discarded food, which is a common problem during the spawning season.
As a result of the incident, local authorities erected warning signs at the beach, advising against swimming. Experts have also warned that piranhas possess a bite force approximately 30 times their body weight, making them one of the most powerful predators in the animal kingdom.
