Georgia quarterback Carson Beck skips watching college football games in his downtime because it’s too stressful for him.

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is gearing up for a repeat matchup against the No. 2-ranked Texas Longhorns, whom Georgia beat by 15 points in October in Austin. The two teams will face off in Atlanta on Saturday for the 2024 SEC title.

Beck admitted he doesn’t watch football for leisure, stating, “It’s not fun for me. I don’t enjoy watching football. I watch film.” He explained that watching a game would induce stress, as he would get caught up in analyzing every play and coverage.

Despite not watching games, Beck does review film to learn from his opponents. He recently watched the film of their next opponent, Texas, to study their defense, which he considers “really good” and “executes at a high level.”

Beck’s preparation for the SEC title game will be focused on film study and practice, as he looks to improve his team’s chances of advancing in the College Football Playoff. If Georgia wins, they will secure a spot in the 12-team playoff, regardless of the outcome.
