Gen Z loses trust in British democracy, open to embracing dictatorship.

Title: Generation Z Open to Embracing Dictatorship, Survey Finds

A recent survey by Channel 4 has revealed that Generation Z, aged between 13 and 27, is increasingly open to the idea of embracing dictatorship in the UK. The survey found that over half of respondents believe that the country would be better off with a strong leader who doesn’t have to bother with parliament and elections, while a third agree that the army should be in charge.

The survey also revealed that nearly 45% of male respondents in this age group believe that women’s rights have gone too far, with some even citing anti-feminist figures like Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson as people they trust. This polarization view on women’s rights is a stark contrast to the 33% of 45-65 year-olds who hold the same view.

The survey’s findings suggest that Gen Z is increasingly disillusioned with the democratic system, with many believing that radical change is necessary to reform society. This sentiment is not unlike that found in countries like North Korea, Afghanistan, and Belarus, which are considered to be ruled by hard autocratic regimes.

The survey’s results have been described as concerning by Alex Mahon, Chief Executive of Channel 4, who notes that Gen Z is simultaneously the most authoritarian and liberal generation, with many curating their own understanding of the truth through social media. The findings suggest that this polarization could be exacerbating societal tensions and undermining the value of democracy.
