Former President Bill Clinton is in the hospital after developing a fever, spokesperson says

Former President Bill Clinton Hospitalized with Fever, Expected to Return Home by Christmas

Former President Bill Clinton was admitted to a Washington, D.C. hospital on Monday afternoon after developing a fever, his spokesman announced. Clinton, 78, was taken to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and is undergoing testing and observation. He is expected to remain at the hospital at least overnight.

According to Angel Urena, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, the former president is “fine” and is “hopeful to be home by Christmas.” He is also described as being “awake and alert.”

Clinton’s hospitalization comes just days after he spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago and was active on the campaign trail. The former president has a history of health scares, having undergone quadruple bypass heart surgery in 2004, experienced a partially collapsed lung in 2005, and had heart procedure in 2010.

In 2021, Clinton was hospitalized for six days after a urological infection spread to his bloodstream. Despite his health issues, Clinton remains active, releasing a new book, “Citern: My Life After the White House,” and keeping a robust travel schedule.
