Fans of the Kansas City Chiefs appear to be growing increasingly frustrated with the team’s seemingly favored treatment by referees, particularly in the recent AFC title game against the Buffalo Bills. The game involved several close calls that ultimately went in the Chiefs’ favor, including a pivotal 4th-and-1 quarterback sneak where refs marked Josh Allen short of the first-down marker.
Despite the controversy, NFL former head of officiating Dean Blandino denied any notion of favoritism towards the Chiefs, stating that close calls happen and sometimes teams get breaks. He added that if there was a conspiracy to favor the Chiefs, it would be impossible to keep it hidden, as many officials would need to be involved.
As Super Bowl LIX approaches, the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles for the second time in three seasons in a bid to win the Lombardi Trophy.
