Former Jets star criticizes Aaron Rodgers for prioritizing records over winning over Rams.

Aaron Rodgers Doesn’t Have Many People in His Corner as Jets’ Season Nears End

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn’t seem to have many people in his corner as the team’s 2024 season nears its end. Following the team’s 19-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, former Jets star linebacker Bart Scott took issue with Rodgers’ performance.

Scott was upset that Rodgers tried to get touchdown pass No. 500, which would join him in an elite group of players with at least 500 touchdown passes. Rodgers had 256 passing yards and one touchdown pass in the game.

Scott said on the SNY postgame show, “To have a 10-minute drive and end up with nothing, and it’s because you’re going for records, right? Sentimental records. And you’re deciding who gets your record. And I think that’s – that’s despicable.”

Former Jets offensive lineman Willie Colon agreed with Scott’s assessment. Rodgers himself seemed to take a more introspective approach, saying, “I think we’re kinda past the ‘keeping it positive’ thing. I think it’s just about perspective. Perspective informs your truth and your truth makes your reality.”

Rodgers also spoke about the importance of perspective and the reality of the team’s situation, which includes being 4-11 and out of the playoffs. He also touched on the importance of professionalism and building culture, saying, “You gotta figure out what it means to be a professional. That’s an important part of building culture. The last two weeks we can really see who’s on board moving forward and who is ready to get out.”

Rodgers’ comments suggest that he is focusing on the future and trying to find a way to finish the season strong.
