A Florida woman has been arrested and charged with animal cruelty and resisting arrest after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend’s dog several times, police said.
Megan Lynn Mileskiewicz, 23, allegedly made a 911 call after attacking the 2-year-old pit bull, which sustained two lacerations, between 2 and 3 inches long, near its backside. Witnesses reported that Mileskiewicz armed herself with a pocketknife and stabbed the dog, who was not life-threateningly injured but still had bleeding wounds.
Mileskiewicz allegedly told authorities she had made a mistake and became interested in the dog, saying it was “bothering” her. She also told investigators that she had been upset and “made a mistake.”
Deputies were called to the scene on a 911 call at around 10:45 am on Sunday. They found Mileskiewicz hiding behind a tool shed, where she refused to come out and was eventually removed and taken into custody.
Mileskiewicz was arrested and taken to the Hernando County Detention Center, with a bond set at $3,500. She is currently facing charges of animal cruelty and resisting arrest.
