Florida Democratic Party Official and LGBTQ Activist Arrested on Child Pornography Charges
Matthew Inman, 39, a prominent LGBTQ activist and treasurer for the Orange County Democratic Party, was arrested on January 16 and charged with the transportation of child sexual abuse material. Authorities claim that Inman received and saved several videos depicting adults sexually abusing young children.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the middle district of Florida, Inman began talking online with an undercover law enforcement officer posing as the father of a 9-year-old boy in October 2024. During the conversation, Inman expressed interest in meeting and sexually assaulting the purported child and sent the undercover officer child sexual abuse material videos.
The FBI obtained a search warrant for Inman’s house, and authorities say the suspect tried to delete videos from his phone as he hid from officers in the attic of his home.
Rainbow Democrats, the LGBTQ activist group that Inman served as president, issued a public statement condemning the alleged actions and suspending Inman from the organization. The Orange County Democratic Party also released a statement, condemning child sexual abuse and suspending Inman from all voluntary roles and responsibilities.
Inman remains in custody at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility, and his case is ongoing.
