Florida Authorities Search for Man Who Robbed Elderly Woman of Lottery Winnings
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who robbed an 83-year-old woman of her lottery winnings outside a convenience store in Orlando on Wednesday morning. Surveillance footage shows the suspect, believed to be Diego Stalin Tavarez Fleury, approaching the woman as she was leaving the store with her winnings. He tries to swipe the money from her hand, and a verbal altercation ensues. Another man attempts to intervene, but Fleury shoves him and steals the money, dragging the woman in the parking lot as she holds onto her winnings.
The suspect, who is wanted for robbery, sudden snatching, and battery on a person 65 or older, has not been located as of Wednesday evening. A store employee reported that Fleury often hangs out near the front of the building and has caused problems in the past.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for Fleury and is asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477.
