Pennsylvania Senator and Democrat John Fetterman made a bold fashion statement at Donald Trump’s Inauguration ceremony, where he arrived dressed in a black hoodie, gray shorts, and sneakers. This relaxed attire stood out among the sea of formal wear worn by other attendees, despite the cold temperatures that forced the ceremony indoors. Fetterman’s relaxed look was a departure from his usual suit, which he had worn during votes in the Senate.
The scene unfolded on the North Portico of the White House, where Trump and his wife Melania were greeted by outgoing President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. In a surprising turn of events, Trump, who had skipped Biden’s inauguration in 2021, accepted Biden’s warm welcome with a smile. The two presidents shared a handshaking ceremony and partook in a traditional tea and coffee service before the swearing-in ceremony.
Trump and his entourage, including the First and Second Ladies, also attended a worship service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, a tradition dating back to Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933.
