Eggs Recalled from Costco Stores Due to Possible Salmonella Exposure, FDA Warns

Ad

Federal food regulators have raised the alarm for recalled eggs sold at Costco stores due to possible salmonella exposure, reclassifying the targeted product to their highest risk level. The recall involves approximately 10,800 retail units of organic, pasture-raised, 24-count eggs, sold under Costco’s Kirkland Signature brand.

The eggs were sold in 25 Costco stores in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, between November 22nd and November 27th. The affected eggs have a Universal Product Code (UPC) of 9661910680 and a use-by date of January 5, 2025. They were packed in sets of 24.

The FDA has reclassified the recall to a Class I, which means there is a “reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to, a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.” Customers who have purchased these eggs should return them to Costco for a full refund. The FDA warns that exposure to these eggs could result in serious health consequences or death.
