As the world prepares to ring in the new year, local and federal authorities are adopting new measures to ensure public safety and security for the annual Times Square New Year’s Eve ball drop. Speaking at a press conference earlier this week, a former NYPD official shared their insights on the steps being taken to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for the expected 2 million revelers.
