Renfroe, 55, was last seen leaving his Manhattan apartment building on Tuesday evening. His family reported him missing when he failed to return home, sparking a widespread search effort involving local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

According to retired NYPD Commander John Collins, who has been tracking the case, the search for Renfroe is one of the most complex and challenging he has seen in his 30-year career.

“The investigation is moving at lightning speed,” Collins said in an exclusive interview. “We’ve got a team of top-notch detectives working around the clock to piece together every shred of evidence, interview every witness, and canvass every inch of ground where Renfroe was last seen.”

Collins, who served as commander of the NYPD’s Midtown South Precinct for over a decade, pointed out that the search efforts are being hampered by the sheer volume of people and vehicles in the city.

“It’s like looking for a needle in a haystack,” he said. “We’re talking about a major metropolitan area with millions of people, tens of thousands of vehicles, and countless surveillance cameras. It’s a daunting task, but we’re working tirelessly to find Renfroe and bring him home safely.”

Despite the challenges, Collins expressed confidence in the investigation and praised the efforts of the NYPD, the FBI, and other agencies involved.

“I’ve seen some tough cases in my time, but this one is particularly concerning due to Renfroe’s high profile and the impact his disappearance is having on his family and the community,” Collins said. “I have every faith in the investigators and the law enforcement agencies working on this case. They’re some of the best in the business, and I’m confident they’ll leave no stone unturned until they find Renfroe.”
