Bologna Sandwich Battery Lands Ex-Con in Jail Without Bond
An ex-con, Oquavious Chandler, 29, has been arrested and locked up without bond for allegedly throwing a bologna sandwich at his roommate.
According to a criminal complaint, the incident occurred on Sunday when the victim removed a PlayStation 5 from Chandler’s bedroom because he was being too loud while using it. The victim told police that Chandler became aggressive and began to yell at him, before throwing the bologna sandwich at him.
The victim, who has no visible injuries from the bologna strike, video recorded the incident on his phone. The alleged bologna battery was upgraded to a felony due to Chandler’s multiple prior battery convictions, including two that involved video games.
Chandler, who was on probation at the time of his arrest, has a history of violence. In 2023, he pleaded no contest to choking his sister during a dispute over video games, and in 2022, he was accused of threatening a 60-year-old man with a knife and shoving his sister to the ground.
Chandler is currently being held without bond in the county lockup and has been ordered to have no contact with the victim. The nature of his relationship with the victim is redacted from the complaint, but the incident has been categorized by police as “domestic in nature.”
