The Alchemist Has ‘Life Altering’ Studio Session With Erykah Badu
The Alchemist has reflected on his time working with Erykah Badu, describing their studio session as “life altering”. The renowned producer shared a story about their collaboration, which took place in 2007. At the time, Alchemist was working on his album “Chemical Warfare”, and Badu was set to be a guest on the track “Black Market”.
According to Alchemist, the session began with Badu arriving unexpectedly early to the studio, sparking his curiosity. He recalls, “I’m like, ‘What’s going on? You’re here and you’re dressed like you’re going to church.’ She’s like, ‘I’m here to make some music.’
The two artistes subsequently went on to create something special, with Alchemist describing the session as “life altering”. He shared how Badu’s presence brought a level of authenticity and intensity to the production, stating, “She makes you feel like you’re making something special.”
