Former Buffalo Bills star wide receiver Eric Moulds has been accused in a lawsuit of knowingly giving several women sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
The woman who filed the lawsuit, who is currently engaged to Moulds’ pregnant fiancée, claims that Moulds knew or should have known he had a sexually transmitted disease before they became intimate. According to the lawsuit, Moulds allegedly gave her herpes simplex virus type 2, which is a treatable but not curable infection that spreads through sexual contact.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, filed the lawsuit anonymously, citing the emotional distress and trauma she experienced after discovering she had contracted the disease. She claims that Moulds’ pregnant fiancée recommended that she get tested for STDs, and that she later learned of other women who had also contracted STDs from Moulds on social media.
Moulds’ lawyer, Frank LoTempio III, has denied the allegations, stating that the claims against his client are false and that he will “vigorously defend” the lawsuit.
The lawsuit alleges that Moulds and the accuser began a romantic relationship in January 2023 and had their last intimate encounter in November 2023. The woman claims that she tested positive for the disease in December 2023, despite having no other sexual partners during that time period.
Moulds, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, played for the Buffalo Bills from 1996 to 2005, and later for the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans. He finished his NFL career with 764 catches for 9,995 yards and 49 touchdowns.
