Elon Musk Eyeing Liverpool Soccer Club, Valued at $5.37 Billion
Elon Musk, the tech billionaire and former ally of President Donald Trump, is reportedly interested in buying the English Premier League soccer club Liverpool, according to his father Errol Musk. The American business magnate has a net worth of over $200 billion and has already made a significant impact on the political landscape.
Liverpool, known as “The Reds,” is one of the most successful and valuable soccer clubs in the world, with 19 league titles, eight FA Cups, and a record 10 League Cups. The team has also won six European Cups, three UEFA Cups, and four UEFA Super Cups, among other international titles.
Errol Musk confirmed his son’s interest in the purchase, saying that “obviously, anybody would want to own” the team, but did not indicate if a deal was imminent. He also added that the price would likely be too high, suggesting that the family would not be willing to meet the asking price.
Fenway Sports Group, the current owner of the team, has previously denied rumors of a sale, but Errol Musk’s comments have raised speculation about a potential move. If a deal is reached, it would be one of the most significant purchases in the history of the sport.
Musk’s interest in the team is not the only sport-related venture he has pursued. He has also been involved in the development of a new sailing league and has signed a deal to buy a majority stake in a Major League Soccer team, the Houston Dynamo.
