The billionaire entrepreneur told a crowd of thousands in the eastern city of Halle that the AfD is "the best hope for the future of Germany."

The AfD party, known for its anti-immigration stance, denial of climate change, and anti-gender politics, is polling at around 20% ahead of the February 23 elections. The mainstream conservative CDU/CSU party leads with around 30%.
