Dallas Goedert’s Return Timeline Set
The Philadelphia Eagles are placing star tight end Dallas Goedert on injured reserve due to his knee injury, and the plan is to have him back at full speed heading into the playoffs, according to NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.
Goedert, who suffered the injury in Week 13, will miss four of the Eagles’ remaining five regular season games, but the team is prioritizing his healthy return for the postseason. Placing him on IR will ensure he is 100% for the playoff push.
The Eagles have a comfortable lead in the NFC East standings and can clinch a playoff spot with a win on Sunday. However, their bid for a playoff berth is dependent on losses or ties from several teams.
Third-year tight end Grant Calcaterra and veteran C.J. Uzomah will see increased roles with Goedert out. The team also signed E.J. Jenkins to the active roster from the practice squad to prepare for his absence.
Goedert, 29, has tallied 38 catches for 448 yards and two touchdowns in nine starts this season. Despite his injury-laden season, the Eagles are confident their reliable tight end will be back to full strength in time for the playoffs.
