Eagles fans’ former employers defend DEI-focused company amidst backlash over playoff game incident.

Here is the article:

A Philadelphia Eagles fan, Ryan Caldwell, was involved in a heated argument with a female Packers fan at an NFL game over the weekend. Caldwell, who was employed by DEI-focused company BCT Partners in New Jersey, was seen berating the fan using profanity and has since lost his job.

The company’s co-founders, Lawrence Hibbert and Dr. Randal Pinkett, spoke out against some of the reaction they received online, calling out social media users who posted negative comments about the company. “Some of the posts, some of the comments that have been made about our company are as vile if not more vile than the comments made about (Ryan Caldwell),” Pinkett said. “That’s the point, right? That’s the problem with the culture that we’ve created in which we find ourselves, is that there’s no room for grace. There’s no room, there’s just two extremes, either you’re OK or you are canceled.”

Hibbert added that the company is standing by its values and will operate on them, even in difficult times. The company is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary and has been the subject of negative social media posts and reviews in the wake of the incident.

Caldwell released a statement apologizing for his actions, saying that he regretted his behavior and that it was not reflective of the values he possesses. However, he also claimed that there were two sides to the story and that the video circulating online did not reflect the full context of what transpired.
