Philadelphia Eagles are back in the Super Bowl after a dominant 55-23 win over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship. The dynamic duo of Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley combined for six rushing touchdowns. The Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
Barkley, the NFL’s leading rusher in 2024, showed why he might be the missing piece to win the Vince Lombardi after an incredible performance. On the first offensive snap, Barkley ripped off a 60-yard touchdown run to immediately put the Eagles up 7-3.
The Commanders’ response was not good as they fumbled the ball multiple times, leading to four touchdowns for the Eagles. Hurts and the Eagles were also in the “Big Game” in 2022, losing to the Chiefs. However, this time they had Barkley, who made a big difference.
The second half was where things unraveled for the Commanders. Hurts had two more rushing touchdowns, and Barkley added another, sealing the deal for the Eagles. The final score was 55-23.
The Eagles’ A.J. Brown and Washington’s Marshon Lattimore exchanged words after a play during the first half. The Eagles’ Will Shipley scored a touchdown from two yards out with the backups in the game. The cherry on top was a late interception by rookie Quinyon Mitchell, securing the win for the Eagles.
