Drone and android dog clash fatalistically, catalyzing jitters over machines’ escalating belligerence

SHOCKING Footage of Drone and Robodog Battle Erupts Online, Raises Fears of First “Machine War”

Footage of a drone and a robodog engaging in a fiery exchange has gone viral on Chinese social media, sparking concerns about the future of warfare. The clip shows the two machines, seemingly autonomous, shooting each other with fireworks.

The origin and control of the machines are unknown, but the footage has raised doubts about how wars could unfold in the future. The use of drones in battlefields has become more common, with numerous countries including Ukraine and Russia investing in the technology.

Robodogs, on the other hand, are still relatively new. Ukraine was planning to deploy robotic dogs on the frontline, replacing soldiers in dangerous missions. The robots can carry up to 7kg of ammunition or medical supplies and have a battery life of up to two hours.

The US Marines are also testing a robot dog with an AI-powered targeting system, allowing it to detect and track potential targets. Officials warn that the world is closer to a full-fledged global war than ever since World War II, with the crisis in Ukraine potentially escalating into a wider conflict.

The fear of World War III looms, with experts predicting that a nuclear war between the US and Russia could result in 99% of the population in the belligerent countries, as well as Europe and China, dying. The global consequences of such an event would be catastrophic, leading to the displacement of millions, severe food insecurity, and disruptions to essential services.
