Doomsday Looming: Controversial Comic Legend’s Terrible Warning Becomes Reality

Chris Evans’ Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) return could lead to an iconic storyline for Avengers: Doomsday, proving a Stan Lee prediction right. Chris Evans played Captain America from 2011 to 2019, and his return could mean a role in the upcoming final chapter of the Multiverse Saga. He has already reprised his role as Johnny Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Evans could play the evil version of Captain America, working as a double agent for HYDRA, a concept first introduced in comics in 2016. This would be an interesting take on the iconic hero. Stan Lee, who was not the original creator of Captain America but served as the character’s editor-in-chief, previously discussed the idea of a villainous Captain America.

According to Lee, this concept “makes you curious, it’s going to make you want to read the books, they’ll probably do a movie based on it.” With Evan’s return, this idea could become a reality in Avengers: Doomsday. The film is part of the Multiverse Saga, which will include the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, another departure from Tony Stark.

Evans has explored villainous roles in recent projects, such as Knives Out and The Gray Man, directed by the Russo brothers, who are also involved in Avengers: Doomsday. This could be the perfect time to cast him as a villainous Captain America, reuniting him with old friends and then revealing his true allegiance as a double agent. This would create an intense and devastating plot, much like the final moments of Avengers: Infinity War.

Avengers: Doomsday will feature the return of multiple MCU veterans, including Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans, and could mark the beginning of phase six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
