Dev Patel’s 2019 movie Hotel Mumbai is a highly accurate depiction of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, according to former CIA officer John Kiriakou. The film, directed by Anthony Maras, tells the story of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel during the terrorist attacks, focusing on the efforts of hotel staff and guests who made significant sacrifices to ensure the safety of those trapped.

Kiriakou, who was one of the few people to recognize the attack as a Kashmiri separatist group as it was unfolding, praised the film for its accuracy. He stated that the movie is “highly accurate” to what was going on during the 2008 terror attacks it portrays.
