Dennis Rodman apologizes to daughter Trinity after she says he wasn’t a father.

[Five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman has apologized to his daughter, Trinity Rodman, an Olympic gold medal-winning soccer player, after she criticized him for being absent for much of her life in the Call Her Daddy podcast. Trinity told host Alex Cooper that her father is not a dad to her and that hearing his voice is painful.

In a public apology on Instagram, Rodman acknowledged that he has not been the father his daughter wanted him to be, but expressed his commitment to trying to be there for her. He mentioned that he watches Trinity play soccer “all the time” and once flew to watch a game, although he ended up watching from his hotel balcony after being told not to show up because of who he was with.

Trinity explained that she had been forced to live in a car with her mother at one point and that her father’s parties and relationships with other women were a problem. She also described feeling abandoned and unloved by her father, and said that she thinks he is an extremely selfish person.

Trinity has played for the US Women’s National Team and has contributed to several international victories, including the Paris Olympics. She was drafted by the Washington Spirit at 18 years old and has won several titles with the team.

Despite her father’s reported earnings of over $27 million during his NBA career, Trinity said that she has struggled financially at times, including a period where she and her brother lived in a car. She expressed hope that their relationship might improve, but said that she has lost hope after several failed attempts to reconnect with her father.

Rodman has spoken publicly about his desire to be a better parent and has acknowledged that he is still trying to overcome the cycle of abandonment he experienced as a child. He has also expressed his love and pride for his children, and has been publicly supportive of Trinity’s career.
