DeMarcus Ware, a stalwart defensive end for the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys, is a legendary NFL player with a wealth of knowledge about the league and its teams. In a recent interview with SportsRadio 94WIP, the four-time Pro Bowl selection shared his thoughts about the Philadelphia Eagles.
“I love the passion they bring,” Ware said when asked about the Eagles’ energetic fan base. “You can hear it in the stadium, feel it in the locker room – they bring a different energy to the game. And it’s something that’s contagious, you know? When you’re playing in front of a crowd like that, it gets you pumped up, it gets you going.”
Ware also praised the Eagles’ organization, citing the stability and continuity that comes with having the same front office and coaching staff in place for several years. “They’ve got a good thing going,” he said. “They’ve got a good system, they’ve got coaches who know what they’re doing, and they’ve got players who buy in. It’s a recipe for success.”
When discussing the team’s biggest strengths, Ware highlighted the combination of quarterback Carson Wentz and star receiver DeSean Jackson. “Those two, they’re a dynamic duo,” he said. “When they’re clicking, they’re almost unstoppable. And they’ve got other weapons too – guys like Alshon Jeffery, Jordan Howard, Zach Ertz – they’re a well-rounded offense that can put points on the board in a hurry.”
Ware’s assessment of the Eagles’ defense was equally glowing. “They’ve got some big-time players on that side of the ball too,” he said. “Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Malcolm Jenkins – they’ve got some real talent on that defensive line. And Malcolm Jenkins, he’s a stud, man – he’s a ball-hawking safety who can go out and make some big plays.”
Though the Eagles have had their share of ups and downs over the years, Ware believes they’re on the rise once again. “They’re a team on the upswing, and I think they’re going to be a force to be reckoned with in the NFC East,” he said. “I love the way they’re built, I love the way they’re playing – they’re a team that’s getting close to being a real contender.”
