Deion Sanders Warns Colorado Players About Smoking Amid Bowl Game preparations.

Colorado Buffaloes head football coach Deion Sanders laid down the rules for his team as they arrived at their hotel in San Antonio, Texas, ahead of the Alamo Bowl. Sanders, also known as “Coach Prime,” prohibited smoking on hotel floors, telling his players, “If I smell smoke on any floor or if I get someone that tells me somebody is smoking on that floor, that will be your last puff.” He emphasized the seriousness of his rule, warning that if anyone is caught smoking, it would be their “last puff.” The Buffaloes are heading into their first bowl game since the 2020 season and are looking to break a long drought without a bowl win.

The team’s top players, Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, are certain to be taken in the top five of the upcoming NFL Draft. As a precaution, Colorado took out disability insurance to cover the players in case they get hurt in the Alamo Bowl and affect their draft stock.

Coach Sanders stressed the importance of protecting his top players, citing the high coverage they have received this season. “We’re happy and excited” about their prospects, he said. With the Alamo Bowl just days away, Sanders is taking his team’s first Football Bowl Subdivision bowl game very seriously, and his message to his players is clear: no smoking will be tolerated.
