Deb Antney, the manager of rapper Nicki Minaj, has shared a revealing quote about the “Chun-Li” rapper’s early days in the music industry. According to Antney, Nicki Minaj was initially intimidated by the prospect of working with Gucci Mane, fearing that he would “destroy” her.
In an interview, Antney recalled the early days of Minaj’s career, saying, “When Gucci Mane first came into the picture, Nicki was terrified. She felt like he was going to destroy her… We were getting ready to drop the “My Name Is Barbara Roofer Mixtape, and Gucci was pushing to be on it. Nicki was like, ‘I don’t know, I don’t want to be on a track with Gucci Mane, he’s too big, he’s too powerful, he’s gonna overshadow me.'”
