DENVER – A suspected member of the Tren de Aragua drug trafficking organization was arrested in the Denver area by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on Tuesday.
According to a DEA press release, the individual, whose name was not released, was taken into custody during a traffic stop in the Denver suburb of Aurora.
The DEA alleges that the suspect was involved in the transportation and distribution of large quantities of cocaine and other drugs in the western United States.
The Tren de Aragua organization is a notorious drug trafficking group based in Venezuela, known for its involvement in the production and distribution of cocaine and other illegal drugs.
The DEA has been working to disrupt the organization’s operations in the United States and has made several arrests in recent months.
The suspect arrested in the Denver area is expected to face federal drug trafficking charges.
