Fans of America’s team will soon be able to indulge in nation’s nuggets. The Dallas Cowboys are now getting their own chicken nuggets, just in time for Thanksgiving. Arkansas-based Tyson Foods has created the star-shaped nuggets inspired by the team’s iconic logo.
The star-shaped nuggets are making their debut at AT&T Stadium during the afternoon game against the New York Giants. Tyson has previously made team-inspired nuggets, such as for the Arkansas Razorbacks, but this is the first time an NFL team has had its own nuggets.
Team owner Jerry Jones, who grew up in Arkansas and was a close friend of the late Don Tyson, made it a natural fit for the companies to collaborate on the Cowboys nuggets. Fans who won’t be attending a game at AT&T Stadium this season can still try the nuggets at grocery stores in the Dallas area, although there are limited options for now.
The nuggets aren’t just for kids, with adults “eating nuggets again” or “eating more of them because we give them more ways to enjoy them.” The edges of the stars have “even more crunch” than the dinosaur-shaped nuggets, with a similar crispy outer layer.
Tyson has also pledged to make a $1 donation to the Salvation Army for every purchase of the star-shaped nuggets – at stores and in the stadium – up to $100,000.
While fans of other NFL teams might be wondering if their team could become the next chicken nugget, Tyson hints at the possibility of future collaborations. “I would definitely say there are discussions” about it.
