New York Giants’ Struggle Continues with Loss to Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving

Ad

The New York Giants, despite using a new starting quarterback, Drew Lock, fell to their NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving, 27-20. The Giants started strong, marching down the field on their first drive and taking an early 7-3 lead. However, they were unable to capitalize on their momentum, allowing the Cowboys to take a 13-10 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the Giants struggled to move the ball, punting on three of their next four drives. This allowed the Cowboys to seize control, with Cooper Rush leading a nine-play touchdown drive to extend their lead to 27-10 late in the third quarter. The Giants managed to kick a field goal early in the fourth, but were unable to recover.

Lock, who replaced Tommy DeVito, was 21-for-32 for 178 yards with a pick and a fumble, but was also the team’s leading rusher with 57 yards. Malik Nabers made history, setting a new record for most catches by a player in their first 10 games with eight receptions for 69 yards.

The loss marks the third time in as many games the Giants have had a different starting quarterback, a far cry from the stability provided by Eli Manning’s 13-year streak of starting every game. The Cowboys, on the other hand, have now won 20 of their last 24 meetings against the Giants and eight in a row. The Giants are now 2-10 and trending towards earning the first overall pick in the draft, while the Cowboys improved to 5-7 and won their second game in a row.
