New Cincinnati Bengals Kicker Cade York’s Debut a Family Affair
New Cincinnati Bengals kicker Cade York made waves before his debut with the team on Monday, and his game-day experience became even more special thanks to his girlfriend, Zoe Dale, a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys. York, who replaced an injured Evan McPherson, revealed that despite Dale’s allegiance to the Cowboys, she would be cheering him on.
As expected, Dale was in attendance for York’s first game and was seen cheering him on from the stands. As York lined up for his first extra point attempt at AT&T Stadium, her reaction was captured by ESPN’s broadcast. “Praise God,” she beamed with a big smile after York successfully kicked the ball.
York, who is 23 years young, said that he and Dale got the call to join the Bengals on separate days, with Dale baptizing just a day prior to his own callup. “I was like ‘Well, Zoe, I will see you at home no matter what’, so yeah, it’s pretty cool,” he admitted.
In his debut performance, York went 2-2 on field goals and 3-3 on extra kicks. Late in the fourth quarter, a botched blocked punt gave the Bengals a final chance to score, culminating in a 40-yard touchdown pass from Joe Burrow to Ja’Marr Chase, securing their much-needed win over the Cowboys.
“We needed a break,” Burrow praised after the game. “We haven’t got many this year, but it was nice to get that one and nice to come out of this with a win.”
