Richard Allen, an Indiana man, is seeking to overturn his murder convictions for the brutal killing of two teenage girls, Liberty German and Abigail Williams, on a hiking trail in 2017. Allen’s attorneys have filed a motion with a Carroll County Circuit Court judge to vacate his murder convictions or schedule a hearing to discuss four specific issues that they believe could prove Allen’s innocence.
The defense is pointing to four pieces of evidence, including a purported confession from a now-deceased man named Ron Logan, who allegedly admitted to killing the girls in 2017. Additionally, the attorneys argue that the prosecution’s timeline of events was flawed and that new evidence suggests that the suspect’s white van may have not passed by the crime scene as originally thought.
