Professionalism Concerns aside, Michael Mitchell Vows to Improve in Sophomore Season
Professionalism was reportedly the reason Michael Mitchell fell out of the first round, and his performance in 2024 seemed to confirm those concerns. Despite possessing significant talent, Mitchell rarely showcased it. However, as receivers coach and former Colts legend Reggie Wayne noted, Mitchell “can be a difference maker.”
Mitchell himself acknowledged that it was a learning year, saying “it was just a lot of new things.” As a college veteran, he was thrust into a rookie role, tasked with learning how to be a professional. With the notoriously long rookie year now behind him, Mitchell is looking to apply what he learned to his performance in 2025.
Regardless of who is throwing passes, Mitchell expects to start living up to expectations in his sophomore campaign. “The second year will be a whole lot better,” he confidently stated. With one season as a pro under his belt, Mitchell is ready to take the next step and prove himself as a difference maker.
