Colts QB Anthony Richardson ruled out, Joe Flacco to start against Giants.

Indianapolis Colts in a Must-Win Situation as They Turn to Veteran QB Joe Flacco

The Indianapolis Colts currently have a 10% chance of making the playoffs, but a win against the Giants on Sunday could boost that number to 14%. However, a loss would eliminate them from postseason contention entirely. To stay alive, the Colts will rely on veteran QB Joe Flacco, who replaces the struggling rookie QB Sam Ehlinger.

This isn’t a new scenario for the Colts, as they’ve turned to Flacco before to boost their offense. Earlier this season, head coach Shane Steichen benched Ehlinger and started Flacco, who had shown he could improve the passing game. While Flacco went 1-3 as a starter, his experience could come in handy on Sunday.

The Colts have lately relied on a strong ground game to stay in the mix. Last week’s win over the Tennessee Titans saw the team rack up 335 rushing yards, setting a new franchise record. QB Sam Ehlinger contributed to that effort with 70 yards on nine carries and a touchdown.

The Colts will face a Giants team that has struggled against the run, allowing 142.6 yards per game. This could bode well for RB Jonathan Taylor, who had a big game last week, rushing for 218 yards. The game against the Giants kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
