The Indianapolis Colts have managed to keep their playoff hopes alive after a thrilling 25-24 victory over the New England Patriots. Trailing 17-10, Anthony Richardson led a 19-play, 80-yard drive that lasted more than five minutes, culminating in a 3-yard touchdown pass to Alec Pierce with just 12 seconds remaining.
Instead of kicking the extra point to tie the game, the Colts opted to go for the two-point conversion, which Richardson completed by running in the ball himself, taking a 25-17 lead. The Patriots responded by getting the ball back, but Joey Slye’s 68-yard field goal attempt fell short by about 2 yards.
Richardson finished the game 12-for-24 with 109 passing yards, two touchdown passes, and two interceptions. He also added 58 yards on nine carries. Jonathan Taylor had 96 yards on 25 carries, including a touchdown, and the lone catch of the day for a score.
The Patriots, meanwhile, were led by quarterback Drake Maye, who was 24-of-30 with 238 passing yards and an interception. Antonio Gibson had 62 yards on the ground, and Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper each had seven catches for 75 and 42 yards, respectively.
The Colts improve to 6-7 on the season, keeping their hopes of a playoff spot alive, while the Patriots fall to 3-10.
