Colombia’s President Petro halts US planes from returning migrants.

Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro has announced that his government will not allow US planes to return migrants to Colombia. This decision comes as the US government has been deporting thousands of migrants, mostly Haitians, from the US-Mexico border back to Haiti, with many of them transiting through Colombia. Petro has stated that Colombia will not become a “buffer zone” for the US and will not participate in the forced repatriation of migrants. The move is seen as a significant challenge to the US immigration policy and may lead to tensions between the two countries.
