Sports Fans, Rejoice: A Light Slate of Games on Christmas Eve and Day

Ad

Sports fans can breathe easy on Christmas Eve as there will only be one game played before a full buffet of games on Christmas Day. A single bowl game, the Hawaii Bowl, is set to take place on Tuesday, with the South Florida Bulls facing off against the San Jose State Spartans at 8 p.m. ET.

The Bulls, led by head coach Alex Golesh, finished the season with a record of 6-6 and are looking to bounce back from a loss in the Boca Raton Bowl last season. The Spartans, under the guidance of coach Ken Niumatalolo, finished the season with a 7-5 record and are on a three-game losing streak in bowl games.

When Christmas Day arrives, NBA games will kick off at noon ET, followed by two NFL games. The Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 p.m. ET, while the Houston Texans will host the Baltimore Ravens at 4:30 p.m. ET.

College football will return on December 26, and the NHL will resume on December 27. For sports fans, it’s a great opportunity to get some rest before the holiday festivities begin, and to enjoy some action-packed games on one of the most festive days of the year.
