Chuck Todd exits NBC amid global news network talks.

Longtime NBC Host Chuck Todd Plans to Leave Network, Report Says

Chuck Todd, the former moderator of “Meet the Press,” is reportedly planning to leave NBC when his contract is up this year. According to a report from Semafor, Todd has been meeting with other media organizations to discuss his future plans and has expressed interest in roles outside of NBC in both broadcast and digital media.

Todd, 52, has been noticeably less visible on the network since being replaced as moderator of “Meet the Press” by Kristen Welker in 2023. He has been critical of NBC News’ hiring decisions, including the addition of former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel as an analyst in March 2024.

Todd publicly questioned his bosses over the decision, saying that Welker was put in an awkward position by having to interview McDaniel, a former colleague, about her past election rhetoric. He also criticized the network for hiring McDaniel, saying that many of the network’s dealings with the RNC under her leadership had been met with “gaslighting” and “character assassination.”

Todd has previously hosted his own MSNBC program, “The Daily Rundown,” and served as NBC’s chief White House correspondent. NBC News has not commented on Todd’s reported plans to leave the network.
