The Kansas City Chiefs may be without their star defensive tackle Chris Jones on Wednesday as he is listed as questionable due to a calf injury. Jones is dealing with the injury after missing two practices, and his limited participation on Tuesday earned him a questionable designation. A non-factor would be a significant loss for the Chiefs’ defense as Jones is not only an interior force to be reckoned with but also offers the ability to slide outside and take advantage of matchups, making him a game-changer for defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
Additionally, right tackle Jawaan Taylor is also listed as questionable with a knee injury, while left tackle D.J. Humphries is out with a hamstring issue. Corner Chamarri Conner is also ruled out due to a concussion. The potential loss of Taylor, who is solid in pass protection, could be a significant concern, especially for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is already nursing an ankle injury. With T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, and Nick Herbig continuing to pressure Mahomes from the edge, the loss of two offensive tackles could spell trouble for the Chiefs.
