Chloë Bailey Cops to Prior Kendrick Lamar Crush
R&B singer Chloë Bailey has revealed that she had a major crush on rapper Kendrick Lamar back in the day. In a recent interview, the 22-year-old songstress confessed that she used to gush over the Compton native, describing him as a “god” for his lyrics.
“I used to have a huge crush on Kendrick Lamar,” Bailey said. “I think his lyrics are like, to me, like God-level. I’m not even being dramatic. I just think his storytelling is incredible, and the way he weaves together words is like a black magician, really.”
Bailey, who is the sister of Chloe x Halle bandmate Halle Bailey, also revealed that she was heavily influenced by Lamar’s early work, particularly his debut album “Section.80”. “I got to see him live for the first time, and I was like, ‘This is the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen,'” she recalled. “And then I went back and listened to his album again, and I was like, ‘This man is a genius.'”
